Islamabad: Investors have shown an interest in investing in a variety of areas, and they are also looking for new ways to strengthen Pakistan-Germany commercial and investment ties.

Food processing, automotive, IT, energy, textiles, logistics, and housing and construction industries were cited as possible investment sectors in Pakistan during a meeting between Secretary Board of Investment (BOI), Fareena Mazhar, and a high-level business delegation from Germany.

The delegation, led by Oliver Oehms, CEO of AHK Dubai, consisted of 16 individuals. Several German business titans were represented, including Lufthansa, AHK, SIG MEA, Weidmuller Middle, and Emltc Emerging Solutions, among others.

All of these corporations have a significant presence in most parts of the world, and they are visiting Pakistan to assess the business climate and investigate attractive investment opportunities.

During the conference, German manufacturer Weidmüller declared plans to open a manufacturing unit in Pakistan in the near future, while a representative from German airline Lufthansa stated that the airline was eager to resume flight operations in Pakistan after a 13-year hiatus.

In response, the secretary volunteered to set up a meeting with the Minister of Aviation to ensure that the plan is carried out.
