Karachi: General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chief of Army Staff, praised the role of the armed forces in assisting the civil administration in carrying out Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Rs1.1 trillion Karachi Transformation Plan, which was launched in September 2020.

During a visit to Corps V’s headquarters, the army chief praised law enforcement agencies’ efforts in reducing crime and terrorism in the city. Lt Gen Muhammad Saeed, the Corps Commander, welcomed the army commander, who was briefed on the various roles of the force in the city.
The army chief praised all stakeholders’ coordinated efforts in implementing the transformation plan, according to the statement.

Prime Minister Imran Khan unveiled an ambitious plan for the development of Pakistan’s financial capital last year. The KTP includes a number of projects dealing to water supply, solid waste management, storm water drains removal and resettlement, sewage treatment, road infrastructure, and mass transit, with various military organizations working on many of them.
