Islamabad: In a recent news report, Farkhand Iqbal, the former chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), was taken into National Accountability Bureau custody on a six-day physical detention on Wednesday by an accountability court in Islamabad.

On July 27, he was detained in connection with the issuance of 118 kanals to Park Lane, a private business allegedly owned by former President Asif Ali Zardari.

Iqbal was detained on July 27 by the National Accountability Court for abusing his authority to give property to a private business. The NAB prosecuted him in front of accountability court judge Mohammad Bashir, seeking a 14-day physical remand. The court, on the other hand, only issued a six-day detention.
