Lahore: According to news reports, three Forest Department rest houses in Murree have been transferred to the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at Forest Complex to this effect, under which the rest houses would be open to the general public. According to the information, the Forest Department plans to upgrade these properties by adding a hostel, children’s play area, food lane, and other facilities and amenities to attract more visitors.

During the MoU signing ceremony, Forest Minister Sibtain Khan said bilateral cooperation would encourage tourism because the Punjab Tourism Development Corporation (TDCP) will ensure that rest houses are used more effectively. Furthermore, the meeting was told that more of these facilities would be made available to the public and floating restaurants in the Sindh River near Kalabagh.
