Islamabad: Shaukat Tarin, the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, welcomed the business community and industrialists of the United States of America (USA) to invest in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Pakistan on Thursday (October 14), according to news reports.

He remarked that recent government actions are expanding business opportunities through tax reductions while speaking at a round table meeting held by the United States Pakistan Business Council (USPBC). Minister Tarin emphasised that the administration is completely committed to providing all necessary amenities to investors through its pro-business policies.

He stated in a separate meeting with Hartwig Schafer, Vice President of the World Bank’s South Asian Region, that the government is dedicated to adopting structural reforms and increasing safety nets in order to restore the economy. Pakistan’s economic rehabilitation progress is impressive, according to World Bank VC Hartwig, and this momentum must be sustained.
