Islamabad: The Departmental Accounts Committee (DAC) of the Federal Government Employees Housing Body (FGEHA) stated on Monday that the authority has decided to end the quota system in the allocation of plots to certain categories, according to news reports.

FGEHA representatives informed the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), which was investigating FGEHA’s audit report for fiscal year 2018-19, as well as a report on its new sectors F-14, F-15, and G-13 towers. Quotas for journalists, physicians, attorneys, and other professions have all been removed. The proposal to end quota-based plot distribution was approved by the members of PAC.

The PAC chairman has asked that the housing secretary come up with a transparent criterion under which federal government employees are allowed only one plot each.
