Bahawalpur: According to reports released on Wednesday, the South Punjab administration is conducting a feasibility study for a safari train service for tourists and visitors to the National Park Lal Sohanra from the Bahawalpur railway station to the Lal Sohanra railway station (December 8).
The proposed railway route and track up to the abandoned Baghdaul Jadid railway station, near the city on the Sammsatta-Bahawalnagar railway station, were inspected in coordination with Pakistan Railways Secretary Habib Gilani, according to South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Saqib Zafar.
The safari train service will be started on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, according to information shared about it. This is in an effort to enhance tourism and attract travellers. He continued, “Tourists would be supplied with additional facilities such as coaches to travel by road up to the Lal Sohanra Park.”
Moreover, Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathiya was ordered to explore all possible solutions for lease out via open advertisement. He was also directed to auction the project to transform the Baghdadul Jadid railway station’s building into a fast-food centre.
