According to the figures, 2.190815 million people used the internet system to file income tax returns, with a total deposit of PKR 41.397 billion. By October 12, the number of filers had risen to 2.213 million, with PKR 41.895 billion in deposits.
It’s worth noting that the deadline for both new and old taxpayers to file income tax forms was September 30; however, due to technical problems on that date, taxpayers were given an extension. For the first time ever, more than 1.8 million returns were filed in less than 90 days (till September 30).
