Faisalabad: According to news released, the District Administration of Faisalabad set a global record by simultaneously planting 100,000 seedlings under the Prime Minister’s 10 Billion Tree Initiative.

20,000 trees were planted in the City and Sadr Tehsil as part of this effort. Tandlianwala, Samundri, Jaranwala, and Chak Jhumra were among the districts where 16,000 trees were planted at the same time.

Kaleem Shaheed Park, Narwala Road, hosted the City and Sadr ceremony. Commissioner Saqib Manan, Punjab Minister for Colonies and Culture Mian Khayal Ahmad Kastro, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali, and MPs Latif Nazar and SH Khurram Shahzad, as well as students and other officers, planted the seedlings at the occasion.

While praising the local administration’s efforts, the provincial minister noted that this initiative was urgently needed. Faisalabad, according to the DC Muhammad Ali, was the first city in which tree planting was carried out simultaneously in all tehsils.
