Islamabad: According to press reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered a quickening of the pace of work on several development projects in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) on Wednesday (October 13).

PM Khan presided over a meeting to assess the status of development projects in the United Kingdom. The prime minister stated during the meeting that effective measures are being made to ensure the delegation of financial and administrative powers during the execution of uplift projects in the United Kingdom.
He also ordered the competent authorities to remove all procedural and legal barriers in order to make it easier for locals who needed to travel to Islamabad to resolve their problems. PM Khan has directed that fast and reliable internet connectivity be provided in the region so that people can have better communication options.

The PM was already informed that work on the government’s historic five-year development programme, which was launched earlier this year, has begun. PKR 370 billion would be released for the five-year development programme till fiscal year 2025-26, according to data.
