Rawalpindi: According to a news source on December 14, the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Department in Rawalpindi has withdrawn the notification for the year’s property tax hike of 80%. The same has been lifted for all homes in Punjab.

A ten percent discount will be applied to the new tax payment notices. According to sources within the Excise Rawalpindi department, around 100,000 property owners would receive fresh tax notices. The concerned officials have reportedly been given until December 25 to issue the fresh tax notices.

According to the news outlet, property owners who pay their owing taxes via e-pay by December 31 would receive an additional 10% reduction. So, legally, if you pay your Rawalpindi property taxes by the end of the year, you will be paying 20 percent less tax than you did last year.
