Karachi: According to several reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed satisfaction with the progress made on Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and approved the establishment of one in Karachi on Sunday.

The premier made the announcement while chairing a meeting to assess the success of CPEC projects and encourage investment.

Interior Minister Shaikh Rasheed Ahmad, as well as federal ministers Hammad Azhar and Khusro Bakhtiar, attended the meeting.

He also directed the Board of Investment (BOI) to develop and present a comprehensive strategy for promoting foreign investment in specific sectors, with input from the business community.

He also instructed the relevant authorities to take immediate measures to remove barriers to foreign investors, especially Chinese investors, receiving long-term visas.
