Islamabad: On Wednesday, Italy’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Andreas Ferrarese, remarked that there are unexplored prospects for mutually beneficial investments and trade between Italy and Pakistan that will benefit both nations’ business and trade communities.

The ambassador made these comments while holding a luncheon for key business leaders and presidents of different Pakistani trade chambers at his residence. He stated that the two countries’ commerce and cultural links are at an all-time high and that this is a fantastic opportunity to promote mutual trade and economic ties between the two countries.

According to Ambassador Ferrarese, his country has the largest Pakistani diaspora in the European Union (EU). Workers’ remittances from Italy reached an all-time high of USD 601 million in the fiscal year (FY) 2020-21. He further revealed that Italy is now providing technical support to Pakistan in the areas of agriculture and textile upgrading.
