Faisalabad: According to press reports, construction work on important roadways linking Faisalabad’s district with adjacent tehsils, including as Samundri Road and Jhang Road, has begun. For the last month, work on the decrepit Samundri Road has been underway, and work on Jhang Road has also begun.

Engr. Hafiz Ihtasham Javed, President of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FCCI), expressed his satisfaction at the start of development work. He claimed that the city of Faisalabad attracts thousands of textile workers in search of work, and that road development will improve the city’s infrastructure, encourage increased industrialization, and generate more job possibilities.

According to sources, building on these roads began in April 2021 after the Provincial Development Working Party gave its permission (PDWP). Construction of Satiana Road from By-Pass to Tandilianwala at a cost of PKR 500 million, repair/improvement of roads from MC Limits to Faisalabad Ring Road, and rehabilitation of Faisalabad-Jaranwala Road and Faisalabad-Satiana Road were among the other projects authorised by the government.
