Rawalpindi: In a piece of recent news, in the Rawalpindi Division, a total of 500 initiatives costing Rs. 86.9 billion are set to be launched, with 430 projects already authorized and the remainder in the works. According to a spokesman for the Commissioner Office, 361 activities were authorized under the Annual Development Program (ADP). There were 264 new projects and 96 continuing projects in this edition.

The new projects were introduced in various sectors, including 33 for the Highway Division, 72 for the Building Division, 5 for the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), 50 for Local Government and Community Development, 12 for the RC Division, 4 for the Sports Department, 5 for the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), 29 for Public Health, one small dam project, and 8 for various departments including Tourism, Wildlife, and Patiala Development Authority (PDA) and Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA).

Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah instructed responsible authorities to examine development projects on a regular basis and guarantee high quality during a meeting of the Divisional Development Working Party (DWP). At the meeting, the commissioner also authorised three projects for the Building Department, three projects for WASA, and one project for the Highway Division.

WASA has also filed a few projects, including sewage lines to be installed in Union Councils 21 to 29, as well as drainage and sewer line projects in Union Councils 1 to 12, as well as Union Councils 36 and 37, according to the spokesman. Another application for approval was for the maintenance and upgrade of Satellite Town’s sewage infrastructure and adjacent regions.
