The Sindh Government announced that the ‘Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Township Scheme’ (SBBTS), currently under construction, will provide 50,000 plots, each measuring 120 square feet. According to a news report published on April 7th, the plots will be distributed through 23 districts in the province.
On Tuesday (April 6), Sindh Local Government Secretary Syed Najam Ahmad Shah presided over a meeting, describing SBBTS as a “priceless gift” to the province’s citizens, focusing on the needy. Shah also provided instructions to appropriate staff to expedite construction in many cities so that the project can be completed as quickly as possible and with the most significant accountability possible.
According to the information, the project would cost PKR 9421 million, and a systematic plan will be introduced to ensure the timely inclusion of basic necessities, including electricity, gas, water supply, and a sewerage system. Finally, the secretary emphasized the importance of rapid growth and cautioned that no delays would be tolerated.
