Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said that the Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway and Dir Expressway could be included in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects at the next Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meeting on July 16.

The Central Development Working Party has authorized two socioeconomic development initiatives for the province (CDWP). The completion of these routes, the chief minister said in a press conference, will pave the way for the province’s rapid development and improved transportation amenities. It will also stimulate industrial and commercial activities in the region.

Mr Mahmood Khan also requested that competent agencies create and submit to the Cabinet a new method to eliminate barriers to private land acquisition for public welfare projects. Similarly, he ordered the transfer of lands controlled by several government ministries to the province government.

The minister also gave the industries department a month to conduct an environmental analysis to develop the Buner marble city.
