DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Amir Latif, the division commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan, has said that the multibillion-dollar CPEC project would bring socio-economic development to the Dera district.
In an interview with Dawn on Monday, he said that work on the CPEC route via Dera Ismail Khan was almost complete. He stated that the route would be open to traffic as soon as the remaining sections were completed. He said that the project would change people’s lives for the better.
According to Amir Latif, the distance between Dera Ismail Khan and Islamabad will be reduced to just 280 kilometres once the route is completed.
He said that providing people with facilities during Ramadan was his top priority. During the fasting month, he said, the provincial government ensured that consumers had access to high-quality food at reasonable prices.
He said that sasta bazaars had been set up in all of the Dera division’s district headquarters. He said that he was personally visiting the sasta bazaars and instructed the district administrations to provide all possible services to the customers.
According to the Dera commissioner, the Covid-19 situation in the district was under control, who urged residents to take measures to help stop the pandemic’s spread.
