Quetta: PM Khan underlined that completing the CPEC on time will benefit the Balochistan province in a meeting with the new Balochistan Chief Minister, Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, at his office.

“The federal government would make every effort to provide all available resources for the development of Balochistan’s backward areas,” he promised. The Prime Minister spoke on the government’s efforts to speed up the CPEC projects, particularly in Balochistan.

According to an official statement provided by the Prime Minister’s office, the Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister on CPEC and development initiatives in Balochistan, as well as shared views on the province’s broader political situation.

Prime Minister Khan, recently stated that his country requires investment, particularly from China, in order to speed industrialization and generate jobs for the country’s rising population.

The Prime Minister had also urged the relevant authorities to make land and tax incentives available in order to attract more Chinese investors.

“Investment is required for Pakistan’s industry to move further. While chairing a high-powered meeting recently, PM Khan stated, “It is vital to generate maximum employment prospects for our increasing population, 65 percent of whom are under the age of 35.”

He added that authorities concerned need to take all possible measures to provide land, electricity and gas connections, and tax incentives to attract more and more Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan and populate the Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
