Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Northern Cricket Association (NCA) have been ordered by the Additional District and Sessions Judge Islamabad, Zafar Iqbal, not to prevent players of the Diamond Cricket Club from playing cricket at their ground in Sector G-8/1.

Ishfaq Ali and Muhammad Aqib, two Diamond Cricket Club cricketers, have filed an appeal with the Additional District Judge, naming NCA, CDA, and the Municipal Corporation of Islamabad (MCI) as defendants.

The cricketers said in their appeal that preventing them from playing at the Diamond Cricket Ground was a violation of their fundamental rights, which could not be rejected.

While granting an interim stay to applicants, the court stated, “Not to prohibit applicants from playing in the ground, and to carry on routine practise and other cricketing activities illegally or forcibly until the next date of hearing.”
