Islamabad: According to news sources, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) said on Monday (August 9) that the registration of construction and real estate enterprises increased in July. In July, 313 construction-related enterprises were registered, owing to the government’s efforts to stimulate the economy through the construction sector’s development.

The cities of Islamabad and Lahore witnessed the highest new business registrations in July, accounting for 66% of all new businesses.

According to the authority’s information, a total of 1,949 companies have registered with SECP (mainly online), with Islamabad having the highest (645), followed by Lahore (634) and Karachi (294). Apart from the real estate sector, the trade sector has 279 enterprises registered with the government, 243 in information technology, 178 in services, 117 in e-commerce, and 76 in food and drinks.

Along with the local businesses, 47 multinational businesses from other nations were also registered. SECP earned PKR 2.7 billion in registration fees in total.
