Mansehra: As per the latest news, several dozen dispensaries in Torghar district have been upgraded to basic health units by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.

The chairman of the Torghar district development advisory committee, Laiq Mohammad Khan, said that the chief minister issued the orders at his request.

He told reporters that upgrading the dispensaries would ensure that the residents received quality health care.

Mr Laiq, Torghar’s sole MPA, said the dispensaries were in far-flung areas such as Gowanda Madakhel, Chirakot, Madakhel, Munjakot, Biohassanzai, Kunder Akazai, Tilli Syedain, Nusratkhel, Bamal Akazai, and Mundi Bassikhel.

The lawmaker said that he had secured about Rs2 billion in development funds for the area, which he said would be spent primarily on roads.

He did say, however, that he would make sure that the funds were used for the health and education sectors as well.
