Peshawar: According to press reports, the housing department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has planned to begin two housing programmes in the province over the next two months. Tokra-III Housing Complex on Peshawar Ring Road and a multi-story apartment scheme in Mardan are among the developments.

Chief Minister Mahmood Khan presided over a meeting of the Provincial Housing Department that took the decision in this respect. The Tokra-III Housing project would include 1,080 apartments distributed across 79 kanals, according to the meeting. The project design is already in the works and will be completed soon before the debut next month. The conference also heard an update on the Mardan high-rise housing project, which will cover 2.17 kanal of land and be finished in October of this year.
The development of the Hangu Housing Society will begin soon. The balloting of 2,510 residential plots in Phase III of the Jalozai Housing Scheme is now complete. Similarly, 750 applications have been received for the Jalozai Flats project, a 150-kanal project with 1,320 flats. The deadline for submitting an application has been extended to in order to promote more participation.

Warsak Peshawar, a project with 144 apartments, and Warsak-II, a project with 112 flats, are set to be launched. The 35.8-kanal and 650-apartment high-rise skyscraper in Nishtarabad, Peshawar, is also undergoing consultation and design work. In the Dheri Zardad Charsadda project, there are 53 plots of 3.5 marlas available for allocation out of a total of 458 plots.
Dangram Housing Scheme’s master plan for 836 apartments in Swat has also been finalised. In addition, an on-site study of the Surizai Housing Scheme in Peshawar, which covers 8,500 kanals and includes various sizes of plots and apartments, has been initiated. The conference was also informed that land for the project has been found in many places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s peri-urban regions in order to build low-cost housing plans.
