Lahore: Usman Buzdar, the Chief Minister, has apologised to the people for the difficulties they have encountered as a result of road closures caused by Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) protests.

On Thursday, he underlined that no one could be granted licence to disrupt ordinary life while presiding over a meeting to evaluate law and order and efforts taken for the protection of life and property of people across the province at the chief minister secretariat.
He stated that the state would be responsible for protecting people’s lives and property.
The meeting was attended by Law Minister Basharat Raja, SACM Hasaan Khawar, the chief secretary, the IGP, the ACS (home), the additional IG (special branch), and the CM’s principal secretary.

Meanwhile, the law minister has urged law enforcement agencies to take prompt action to identify those who fired on police during the outlawed outfit’s latest protest. Mr Raja believes that legal action should be taken against the named individuals as soon as possible.
