Lahore: According to news reports, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar approved three megaprojects worth PKR 25 billion for Lahore on Friday (October 1). The project entails the construction of an elevated expressway connecting Guberg and the M2 Motorway, as well as the repair and rehabilitation of Sagian Road and the restart of work on 11 sports centres throughout the city.
The chief minister has directed the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to make the PKR 15 billion Elevated Expressway finance model a top priority. The elevated expressway will run from Gulberg to the Babu Sabo junction, connecting Canal Bank Road, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Multan Road, and Band Road.
The plan aims to alleviate traffic congestion by 65 percent on Lahore’s congested roads. LDA was also entrusted with renovating Sagian Road and completing the project within the current fiscal year.
