Quetta: According to press reports, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani urged the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) to hasten construction on the port city’s drainage and water supply projects on Monday (October 18).

In order to alleviate the city’s growing water and drainage difficulties, CM Alyani asked the authorities to speed the installation of pipes from the Sod Dam and Shadi Kaur Dam.
The provincial government briefed the participants about ongoing development projects in the city aimed at providing basic infrastructure and amenities to answer the growing concerns of the residents at a project review meeting held under the chief minister.

CM Kamal also asked the GDA to concentrate on modernising the Gwadar Jannat Bazar and Shahi Bazaar in the historic Gwadar city during the meeting. The Provincial Minister for Industrial and Commerce Muhammad Khan Toor Utmankhel, Commissioner Makran Division Shah Irfan Gharshin, Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Abdul Kabir Khan, Xen PHE Raheel Bugti, and the Roads and Building Department officials were also present at the meeting.
