Chitral: According to reports released on Wednesday, the Chitral district administration is launching its first-ever paragliding event in Upper Chitral on Friday (October 1).

According to the information supplied, the three-day event will feature paragliders of national renown. The paragliders will take off from Zani Pass (4,200 metres) and land in Booni Town, the Upper Chitral district’s headquarters, according to reports.
Local paragliders have practised flying from Terich Aan and Zani passes, according to Upper Chitral Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ali (above 4,000 meters). He went on to say that no event has yet been planned to take advantage of the area’s paragliding potential. He also mentioned that the ridge separating the Terich and Mulkhow valleys was ideal for paragliding, with landings in Booni.

Furthermore, the deputy commissioner believed that the event will assist to draw paragliders from all over the world to the Hindukush mountain range’s base. Commissioner Ali hopes that by holding this event, he would be able to encourage winter tourism, which will improve the region’s economy.
