Karachi: According to press reports, Chinese Consul General Li Bijian declared on Monday (December 7) that the majority of projects started under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) have been finished, and Gwadar has grown in importance in the region. He also emphasised the airport, hospitals, and training institutes that are part of CPEC’s economic and infrastructural initiatives in the country.
According to a source, the ambassador noted during a visit to the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) office that Pakistan’s energy crisis has ended as a result of the CPEC energy projects, which will boost industrialization.
The envoy also highlighted the vast trade and export opportunities in the fields of information technology (IT), fruits and vegetables, seafood, and other things. He claimed that China has a burgeoning middle-class population of 500 million people with whom Pakistan’s export economy should interact.
He also highlighted the CPEC’s investment in vocational education and training in a number of areas. Furthermore, he claimed that development on the Gwadar Airport project is 90 percent complete, with the facility set to be operational in 2023.
