Kasur: Sarah Ahmad, Special Coordinator to the Chief Minister and Chairperson of the Child Protection Bureau, lay the foundation stone for the Child Protection Unit Kasur building on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

The Kasur Child Protection Unit will have a new structure on Kutchehri Road. According to Sarah Ahmad, the unit will house roughly 30 youngsters and serve as a referral centre. She added that the unit would be built in a year at a cost of around Rs34 million, and that Kasur was a hotspot for child abuse and pornography, making it critical to establish a centre there to defend children’s rights.

According to Sarah Ahmad, child protection units are being established in 13 districts across Punjab, including Kasur. She stated that the Child Protection Bureau’s jurisdiction will soon be expanded to include all of Punjab’s districts. According to her, the establishment of a Child Protection Unit will allow children in Kasur district to be protected.
