Islamabad: On Monday, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved a development project costing Rs. 2.66 billion and suggested another project worth Rs. 51.29 billion to the National Economic Council’s Executive Committee (Ecnec) for further consideration.

During the meeting, projects connected to transportation and communications were discussed. A project worth Rs2.67 billion in the transport and communications sector, titled “Feasibility Studies and Detailed Engineering Design for KPCIP (transport and municipal services) under the Project Readiness Financing – PRF2,” was also under scrutiny.

Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Abbottabad, Kohat, Mardan, and Peshawar are all part of the project. Engineering and procurement assistance, planning feasibility, detailed design, and capacity-building for urban municipal services are all part of the project, as are project management, financial management, procurement, and transportation planning, among other things.

Another transportation and communications project, the Rs. 51.3 billion “New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) 2nd Revision,” has been forwarded to the Ecnec for further review.

The Aviation Division has presented a revised PC-1 of the project, increasing the scope and expense of the ASF camp and CAA residential facility to be funded and built by the Pakistani side.
