Islamabad: The city officials set aside Rs60 million to properly honour Ashra-i-Rehmatulil Alameen (peace be upon him). Three directorates of the civic agency – environment, market and road maintenance, and municipal administration – are still active in organising events related to Miladun Nabi, according to some officials.

Syed Asif Ali, a spokesperson for the CDA, said the civic agency planned festivities to commemorate the holy prophet’s birthday in an appropriate manner.

The CDA organised a Mehfil-i-Samaa and a large Mehfil-i-Naat, he said, while the DMA handled the lighting in various locations. The CDA, according to the spokeswoman, organised the activities at the authority of the federal government.

On October 17, a major Mehfil-i-Naat was held in F-9 Park amphitheatre, where Naat khwans from across the country performed. Another Mehfil-i-Samaa was organised, with the participation of famous Qawwal Asif Ali Santo and others.
