Islamabad: According to news reports, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) accepted proposals from four international businesses on Friday (October 15) to offer 30 buses for the commencement of a metro service from Peshawar Mor to the Islamabad International Airport (IIA).

Hanger Bus Company, Master Motors Yutong, AVES Enterprises, and Foton Company all submitted bids. After consulting firms have evaluated the companies’ profiles, the civic authority will open the financial bids of the eligible firms by the end of October.

According to the project’s specifications, 24 buses will travel from Peshawar Mor to N5 bus station, while the remaining buses will travel from N5 bus station to IIA. The buses will run 24 hours a day, providing a convenient way for travellers to go to and from Islamabad International Airport. According to CDA officials, the authority plans to complete the procedure in four months and launch the service in March 2022.

In January 2017, the National Highway Authority (NHA) completed a 25.6-kilometer track for the project from Peshawar Mor to IIA at a cost of PKR 16 billion. The work on command and control, ticketing, station administration, and cleaning, on the other hand, is ongoing.
