Islamabad: According to news reports, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) awarded the contract for the construction of 10th Avenue to the National Logistics Cell (NLC) on Monday (November 29).

The contract would be awarded to NLC after codal formalities are fulfilled, according to a CDA spokesperson. Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and NLC competed for the contract, with the latter winning after submitting the lowest proposal of PKR 10.2 billion.
The CDA official revealed that the 10th Avenue would be built in two parts while revealing the specifics. A five-kilometer road will be built in the first phase from I.J. Principal Road/Katarian Bridge to Srinagar Highway – near the edge of G-9 and the start of G-10.

The construction project is projected to take 21 months to complete. From Srinagar Highway to Margalla Road, the second phase will be built.
It is important to note that on Wednesday (November 24) Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved the construction of 10th Avenue, at the total cost of PKR 12.1 billion.
