Islamabad: According to a news source, Canada’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Wendy Gilmour, the Canadian business sector regards Pakistan as a viable investment destination in the fields of power generation, power transmission systems, and mining. In a meeting with the Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin, she expressed her concerns.

The minister briefed the Canadian High Commissioner on the strengthening of investment infrastructure and the economic progress that the two countries are seeing in many areas. Pakistan has tried to improve tax collection, promote exports, raise remittances, and make the energy sector more sustainable, according to him.

According to the minister, Canada is one of Pakistan’s important development partners, and the two countries’ business and economic connections must be strengthened further. Tarin went on to remark that the administration is also making significant progress in agriculture, housing, and the small and medium-sized business sector. He also stated that the Kamyab Pakistan Program, which promotes entrepreneurship among Pakistan’s youth, would be its hallmark project.

Furthermore, the minister stated that the government is creating several short, medium, and long-term plans for inclusive and sustainable growth in 14 vital sectors and that these efforts would lay a more solid foundation for an economic turnaround.
