Lahore: According to news reports, Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Babar Hayat Tarar stated on Monday (December 06) that the cadastral map of Lahore will be completed by the end of December. The official map will also be used to identify state-owned property and map plot numbers.

According to the article, the ‘Khasra number’ system for plots would be eliminated, and each plot will be assigned a unique number based on its kind. The procedure will begin in Lahore in the first phase, where a Cadastral map has already been developed and the system will be updated soon.

Every house and business plaza will be assigned a numeric number between 1 and 3, and every shop and apartment in a multi-story building will be assigned a number as well. The Khasra number system will become obsolete after the operation is completed. A similar procedure will also be applied in other cities throughout the province.
