Islamabad: According to a news item published on Tuesday (August 17), the federal cabinet agreed to regularise unapproved/irregular housing plans in several zones of Islamabad, including Zones II, IV, and V.

On August 17, a cabinet meeting was convened in this respect. During the discussion, it was suggested that a committee be formed to advise and design an effective policy for regularising unapproved housing schemes.

Members of the Federal Commission for Revision of Islamabad’s Master Plan will make up the proposed committee. CDA members/secretaries, Planning Vice Chairman, Planner/Architect Sikandar Ajam, Architect Murad Jamil, DG/DDG Planning, and other important authorities would be among the other members.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Interior, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) would provide the Commission with the necessary money, logistical assistance, and personnel. In addition, the panel will provide guidance to the authorities on the regularisation of unapproved housing plans. The members of the panel would be compensated from the CDA’s funds, it was revealed.
