Lahore: According to the latest news report released on March 23, the government of Punjab has devised a business plan to boost revenue for the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT).
The provincial government intends to lease out 27 stations to interested companies with the aim to reduce revenue losses and increase profits for the OLMT project. These stations will be leased for a period of one year. Construction of commercial stores at various stations is also part of the plan.
As per the news report, the companies will be responsible for the preservation and maintenance of these Orange Line Metro Train stations, it was announced. The decrease in the amount of OLMT passengers has been credited to people preferring private transportation options as well as following pandemic-related precautionary measures.
