Toba Tek Singh: A delegation from the Punjab Buildings Department has classified 95 government school buildings in the district unfit for use due to their dilapidated state. An official told this correspondent that the team inspected 1,199 schools, including masjid maktab institutions, and discovered that 95 of them had deteriorating premises.

The survey team barred school officials from using decrepit facilities with potentially harmful classrooms. Suhail Azhar Khan, the Chief Executive Officer of the District Education Authority, said that he had previously instructed the heads of the 95 schools to evacuate the rooms and not utilise them in the future. He stated that the school education department has been asked to provide the finances necessary for the reconstruction of these facilities as soon as possible.
