Gwadar: The Parliamentary Commission on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC has insisted the concerned authorities complete the construction on New Gwadar International Airport as soon as possible as it is incredibly significant for the investor’s attraction.

On Sunday, a meeting of the board directed over by its Chairman Sher Ali Arbab, MNA, in Gwadar received a briefing on various infrastructure, energy, and socio-economic development projects under the CPEC outline. Aslam Bhootani, Sadaqat Ali Abbasi, Noor Alam Khan, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, and Zahid Akram Durrani are the committee members who attended the meeting.

The board observed that the airport’s well-timed operation would demonstrate conducive for effective operationalizing of Gwadar deep seaport and suggested its expeditious completion and avoiding delay caused either by Pakistan or the Chinese side. Institutional efforts should be made to take up the issue with the Chinese side to meet the project’s timelines.

The commission commended that the difficulties faced by local fishermen in Gwadar should be determined at the earliest. It also proposed that the purification water plant’s work should be expedited, and the projects’ timelines must be met. It also recommended that a special session of the committee be assembled with all investors to help carry out the distillation plant’s execution.
