Quetta: According to press reports, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani held a review meeting on Tuesday to assess the progress of different development projects.

Hafiz Abdul Basit, Additional Chief Secretary for Planning and Development, updated the meeting on the status of ongoing and new uplift projects included in the current fiscal year’s Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

The PSDP includes 2,286 new development plans and 1,525 continuing programmes, according to information supplied. In addition, the extra chief secretary briefed the guests on the 184 important projects that were discussed during the conference.

Furthermore, the meeting was informed of the revised intentions for the current fiscal year. There are 2,131 DSC (Development Sub-committee) development schemes and 155 PDWP (Provincial Development Working Party) development projects in total. It was suggested that forums for the approval of new uplift plans should convene on a regular basis.

CM Jam Kamal Khan has directed the concerned officials to finish the preparatory work on the new projects this month. He also emphasised that all of the projects were essential and needed to be finished on schedule. Similarly, the chief minister instructed that work on ongoing projects be expedited. According to CM Khan, socioeconomic development would be accomplished through a proper road network.
