Bajaur: Authorities in this city stopped the Lovisam-Mamad Gat Road to traffic for five days on Sunday to ensure that the road’s restoration work was completed quickly.

The decision to close the route was made in conjunction with the executing agency, Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), according to a statement released by the district administration.

Despite the hardship to commuters, the district administration stated that the road closure was vital to complete the construction work quickly. It encouraged the truckers to take the alternate routes that the traffic police had already warned them about.

Meanwhile, traffic was backed up for several hours on Sunday on the popular Khar-Inayat Kallay Road after a truck became stranded in an under-construction section.

According to residents and Rescue 1122 authorities, the collision prompted a three-hour traffic gridlock near the Bajaur Sports Complex. With the use of a crane, a rescue crew was able to lift the vehicle off the road, allowing traffic to resume.
