Bahawalnagar: According to recent reports, the district police claimed to have thwarted a plot to smuggle 35,000 maunds of wheat into Sindh and other parts of Pakistan, arresting 25 suspected smugglers in the process.

The police and district administration raided a godown near Bhokan Pattan bridge on Sunday, seizing 22 trucks loaded with 35,000 maunds of wheat, according to District Police Officer Zaffar Buzdar.

He added that 25 people were arrested for allegedly hoarding wheat intended to be smuggled to Sindh and other parts of the country.
