Karachi: According to news reports, the Aqeel Kareem Dhedhi (AKD) company vowed to build a five-star hotel near Karachi’s National Stadium on Monday (October 5). Aqeel Kareem Dhedhi, CEO of the AKD Group, made the announcement during a meeting with Rameez Raja, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), where Karachi’s business community reviewed the country’s cricket economy’s commercial potential.

According to CEO Dhedhi, his company will be able to invest up to USD 8 million on its own to develop a five-star hotel with 200 rooms for foreign and national teams to stay in. Both parties discussed ways to promote the cricket economy through collaboration as well as steps to help local businesses and cricket talent.

In addition, the group discussed the proposal to resurrect cricket clubs, as well as initiatives to improve school and U-19 cricket in Pakistan in order to recruit more talent. In addition, the group explored ways to improve the country’s cricket events. It was also suggested that cricket stadiums be used for other purposes in order to generate cash for projects.
