Islamabad: The Afghan Ministry of Civil Aviation sent a letter to Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) requesting permission for Afghanistan Airlines Ariana and Kam Air to fly to Pakistan. Because a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Pakistan and Afghanistan has been signed, authorization for aircraft has been requested.

The letter also alleged that US troops destroyed facilities at Kabul International Airport during the evacuation, however the Afghan government maintained that the Qatar government had rebuilt technical aviation facilities at Kabul Airport. On September 13, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) launched its inaugural flight to Kabul.
