Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was informed that 95 percent of civil work on two stages of the Jalozai Housing Scheme, which spans 9,500 kanals, has been finished, and that all plots have been assigned.

Dr. Amjad Ali, the Minister for Housing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, informed the Provincial Assembly that just 5% of the electrical work is left to be finished, and that it would be done soon since the government has already deposited Rs. 1 billion with WAPDA for the establishment of a new grid station. He stated that construction on the grid station will begin in two months.
He stated that the High Rise Five project is 90 percent complete, and that the power work in Havelian Township is finished, but that the remaining 5 percent of the gas supply system work would be finished shortly.

Dr. Amjad informed the House that the New Pakistan Housing Scheme also includes the 10,000-kanal Surezai Housing Scheme. People were given plots, but the villagers squabbled about who owned them.
During Question Hour, Provincial Minister for Housing Dr Majid Khan stated that no housing development will be built on agricultural property. In the midst of a scarcity of nine lakh homes in the province, he stated that advertising for land sharing had been issued.
