Approximately six people attended the auction and claimed ownership of the land.

“This is our land. We inherited from our elders. How it can be auctioned?” Mukhtar Habib wondered. Naveed Nasir, another man who claimed ownership of the land, asked the revenue officials to halt the sale.

The revenue administration had displayed banners in and outside the hall before the auction began, engraved with information about the auction, the nature and measurement of the land, and the court ruling. An official explained details to the attendees via a loudspeaker before the commencement of the auction.
