Muzaffarabad: An official claimed on Sunday that local police seized 15 landlords and renters in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) capital for alleged violations of the national action plan.

Rashid Habib Masoodi, a City Police Station House Officer (SHO), told reporters that his teams had conducted a search operation in Central Plate, Babu Mohallah, Gulshan Colony, Jalalabad, Tariqabad, and other areas of the capital to ensure that the guidelines for owners and renters of houses and shops under the plan launched in AJK and Pakistan in 2015 to combat terrorism were being followed.
According to him, the teams nabbed five landlords for failing to provide information about their renters despite numerous requests. In addition to them, he said, ten renters had been arrested on the same allegations.

Declaring that the search operation would continue in the days to come, SHO Masoodi asked all freeholders to get the tenants of their properties registered in the police station concerned without any delay to avoid legal action.
